DAAD is an important partner of the European Commission for the implementation of EU funded projects worldwide. The DAAD office in Brussels supports the EU application process and the projects’ implementation.

European protection programme for threatened researchers (SAFE)

In cooperation with Campus France, the Collège de France and the Association of Universities of the Mediterranean (UNIMED), the DAAD enables up to 60 international academics at risk to continue their research in the EU.

Harmonisation, Accreditation and Quality Assurance in African Higher Education (HAQAA)

The overarching goal of the initiative is to provide African countries with qualified specialists and executives in management and administration in order to promote sustainable development, favour trade and investment and strengthen civil rights and democratic values.

European Digital Education Hub

The European Digital Education Hub is an online community that connects people from all over Europe. The Hub's mission is to overcome the current fragmentation of policy, research and implementation practice in the field of digital education at European level.

Erasmus Mundus Support Initiative

The Erasmus Mundus Community allows members of the EMJMD, EMJM and EMDM project teams to engage with each other and promote mutual learning. It is a digital platform for online engagement that enables people to collaborate across the Erasmus Mundus landscape.

EDU-SYRIA Scholarship Programme

The DAAD supports the EDU-SYRIA scholarship programme of the European Union, a humanitarian project to improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees and vulnerable young people in Jordan by providing access to higher and vocational education and improving their career opportunities.

EU4Dialogue - Improving exchange across dividing lines through education and culture

The multi-component programme EU4Dialogue supports initiatives dedicated to dialogue and people-to-people contacts across dividing lines in the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova.

EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package – Higher Education Programme (SCOPE-HE)

The EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package - Higher Education Programme (SCOPE-HE) is an EU-funded programme that is part of the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package and aims to improve sustainable connectivity between the EU and ASEAN as well as within ASEAN.

Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme

The DAAD supports the implementation of the programme that grants the right to do research or postgraduate studies at a higher education institution in the EU for a period of 3-12 months. The scholarships are allocated to studies on EU-related issues within the framework of Turkey's EU harmonization process.

Enhancing the Attractiveness of European Higher Education

The Study in Europe project, of which DAAD is implementing partner, aims to show students worldwide what studying in Europe offers, to help them finding out about higher education study, research and scholarship opportunities in Europe, and to connect European higher education organisations with international students and partner institutions.

Harmonisation of African Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation 2

HAQAA2 is intended to build upon, upscale and promote the results of initiative HAQAA1 (see below), which has been established to support the development of a harmonised QA and accreditation system at institutional, national, regional and Pan-African continental level. The DAAD is implementing partner.

Online Pedagogical Resources for European Universities

The aim is to create a common digital infrastructure for a better exchange and increased internationalisation of universities. The DAAD is leading the policy cluster and coordinates the participation of six ministries of education.

Higher and Further Education Opportunities and Perspectives for Syrians

The HOPES project, led by the DAAD, provides Syrian refugees in Turkey, Libanon, Jordan, Northern Iraq and Egypt with opportunities for higher and further education. It is funded by the EU's Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian crisis.

Career Advancement for Refugee Researchers in Europe

The project, funded under the EU's Research Programme Horizon 2020, contributes to the integration of researchers with refugee backgrounds into the European labour market by mobilising experts and employers. The DAAD is a project partner.

DAAD is a partner in the implementation of the project GREET, funded under Horizon 2020. It aims to contribute to the integration of highly skilled refugees in European higher education through exchange of good practices among national support structures and higher education institutions.

Central Asia Education Platform

The CAEP has been established to support a policy dialogue between the EU and the Central Asian (CA) countries and within the CA region in order to reinforce education sector reforms in Central Asia. DAAD is a partner in the consortium that, on behalf of the European Commission, facilitate the Platforms' functioning.
