How to frame international cooperation schemes? The case of Germany

During the lunch debate we discussed the role higher education can play for the development of the African continent. Capacity building at African institutions, the education of future leaders and experts needed for local development, and including African institutions in international exchange and cooperation schemes were among the topics discussed. In the run-up to the EU-Africa summit we launched a  debate on the potential of higher education cooperation between Europe and Africa. The DAAD presented its ongoing activities in the region and discussed with the audience a strategy towards cooperation with the region.
